Water Heater Installation – Terms + Conditions

Deposit Policy

A $250 deposit is required before scheduling your water heater installation. This deposit is non-refundable and will be applied toward the total project cost.

If you decide to cancel the installation, the deposit will not be refunded. This policy ensures we can allocate time and resources for your service efficiently.

General Terms & Conditions

These terms govern the services provided by MBT Construction Inc. Depending on specific project circumstances, additional terms may apply.

Customer Responsibilities & Site Conditions

To ensure a smooth installation process, customers are responsible for:

  • Providing safe and adequate access to the worksite.

  • Removing or securing furniture, flooring, cabinets, drapes, or other personal items near the work area to prevent damage.

  • Ensuring children and pets are kept away from the work zone during the installation.

MBT Construction Inc. is not responsible for damages caused to unsecured personal belongings during installation.

If access to neighboring properties is required, customers must obtain permission in advance. MBT Construction Inc. is not liable for any access-related disputes.

Limited Warranty

MBT Construction Inc. provides a one-year limited warranty on materials and workmanship unless otherwise specified in writing.

Warranty Exclusions:

  • Damage caused by misuse, neglect, external events (e.g., earthquakes, flooding, fires), or modifications made by third parties.

  • Issues covered under the manufacturer’s warranty, which will supersede our limited warranty.

If you experience an issue covered under our warranty, please contact us within 24 hours of discovery. We will respond promptly during business hours (Monday – Friday, 8:30 AM – 4:30 PM PT, excluding holidays).

MBT Construction Inc. is not responsible for water damage or consequential damages due to defects, delays, or unforeseen circumstances. Customers are expected to take reasonable steps to minimize potential damage.

Unforeseen Conditions & Hidden Issues

While we make every effort to assess the worksite before installation, some conditions may not be visible until work begins. If concealed or unexpected site conditions arise (e.g., hidden pipes, structural issues, code violations), the customer will be responsible for additional costs associated with resolving them.

MBT Construction Inc. does not handle hazardous material removal, including asbestos, mold, or lead-based materials. If such materials are discovered, work will be paused until the customer arranges proper removal in compliance with local laws.

Permits & Licensing

Customers are responsible for:

  • Obtaining and paying for any required permits, fees, and inspections.

  • Ensuring timely access for permit inspectors or regulatory authorities.

Failure to provide access may result in additional charges or delays.

Parking Requirements for Installation

For efficiency and safety, our installation vehicles must be parked within 100 feet of your entry door. We cannot park in:

  • Red zones

  • Centers of streets

  • Underground garages

  • Any area where parking is unsafe or restricted

If no suitable parking is available, the customer may be responsible for rescheduling or additional service charges.

Payment Terms & Pricing Policy

  • MBT Construction Inc. provides flat-rate, upfront pricing that includes materials, taxes, and labor.

  • No itemized breakdowns will be provided, as pricing is based on an all-inclusive rate.

  • Payment is due immediately upon job completion.

If payment is not made, MBT Construction Inc. reserves the right to pause or terminate services. Customers remain responsible for all work completed, including materials, labor, and reasonable business costs.

Right to Terminate Work Due to Disputes

In the event of a dispute, MBT Construction Inc. reserves the right to immediately halt work.

If a customer cancels services:

  • Before work begins, a minimum fee of $250 or 10% of the total contract (whichever is less) will apply.

  • After work has begun, the customer must pay for all work completed, with a minimum charge of 10% of the project total.

Customer Inspection & Defective Work Claims

Upon completion, customers are responsible for inspecting the work and reporting any concerns within 48 hours.

If any defects are found, MBT Construction Inc. must be given the first opportunity to correct them. Failure to allow us to make necessary repairs will void all warranties.

MBT Construction Inc. does not reimburse customers for third-party repairs.

Scope of Work & Services Not Included

Our services cover water heater installation only. The following work is not included unless explicitly stated in the service agreement:

  • Carpentry, drywall, tiling, painting, or stucco work

  • Flooring repairs or restoration

  • Landscaping, masonry, or roofing modifications

Customers are responsible for arranging and paying for any additional trades needed for site preparation or post-installation finishing.

This agreement represents the entire contract between the customer and MBT Construction Inc. and supersedes all prior verbal or written agreements. Any modifications must be agreed upon in writing.
